Spiderman and his diverse friends

A conversation with Cameron this morning:

Cameron: Let's do a super hero show!
Mommy: OK. Who should I be?
C: You will be Wonder Woman. And I will be African America!
M: What?
C: I want to be African America.
M: African American? Wondering if we should have another talk about the different skin colors in our family.
C: *exasperated sigh* Noooooo. African America. Points to picture of Captain America.

Too funny! I guess you are still having fun doing super hero role playing. Don't worry. He'll tire of it in a few years.

Oh my goodness! How cute!

I have to share that my friend Jerry and his wife adopted a little girl from Guatemala. So they have had the different colors talk too.

Now, a couple weeks ago, their son Matt (age 7) asked me if I was adopted because I have the same skin as Maria. It was so cute.
